Every day, nearly 1,000 children die due to water and sanitation related diarrhoeal diseases that could have been prevented.
"Our goal is to develop a filter paper that will remove even the toughest virus from water in a process that is as easy as brewing a cup of coffee."

Professor in Nano-technology at Uppsala University, Sweden.
Researchers at Uppsala University in Sweden have developed a filter paper made out of nano-cellulose that can remove even the most minute viruses from water.
A filter with potential to help millions
The filter paper is made from low-cost, renewable and biodegradable material. If produced and launched on a big scale, the filter may give millions more people access to safe drinking water.
